I'd love to receive pictures from friends & family through Gmail, but I also want to ban pictures from people I do not know. Basically I would suggest a 'allow photos from the email-addresses list'.

The way to fill it is another question:
1) by hand: type email adresses with help of the touch sensitive keyboard; whether you should add an address, cause you're missing out some photo-mails, is done by looking at the Gmail account on a regular PC where you may find an email blocked by iGala from a friend who's address wasn't in the list yet.

2) by having iGala filtering email photo messages:
- allowed: these are stored in the Gmail folder (current fuctionality)
- not allowed: have some functionality to preview pictures and if OK add the email address to the 'allow list' and the photos to the Gmail folder

Okay, but...

I had, kind of, expected this answer. I think it's not okay to manage it through Gmail itself. You'll have to use filters as Gmail has no option to block or allow email from certain addresses. The problem is, however, that there is no way to set a filter on forehand to move certain unwanted email to a Trash folder, before that unwanted email has arrived (you can't predict which mailaddress will be sending unwanted email). That's why I suggested an 'allow list'.

I feel that this is an ESSENTIAL feature. If people find pictures on their photo frame from an unwanted source, they may feel realy upset. And this feature should not be too hard to maintain (we aren't all tech users...).

So, if you're not considering a 'programmed' solution, I would suggest is to add a text to the Gmail section in the menu (on iGala) and in the manual to notify users they can filter mail with Gmail.

BTW, another approach might be to automatically LABEL incoming mail using filters and extend settings in iGala to copy only images from email that have a certain label. Would that be appropriate to you? I guess, this is an easier way to go...

I hope you don't feel offended by my answer, just trying to help...

Offended? No, we are encouraged

By seeing the suggestions, it only means our customers care about the product. We are very encouraged by the inputs. Thank you for the ideas and the input.

What you said is VALID. We had been trying to find a way to do this in a non-confusing way for a while. The label setting is a good idea, since only one extra setting on iGala is needed. We will think it over.

This can be done from Gmail website

Users can block/allow email address from Gmail website. That will be easier than maintaining a list on the frame.
