Just wondering if the September time frame is still good for the next version of the SDK platform? I would like to use the frame to capture e-mail address in a retail environment.
ICEP, which is the SDK on which the iGala is built on, is available to limited partners at this time, mainly due to the learning curve of the LUA programming.
ICEP2, the next generation of the SDK platform, will support more common programming environment like QT, Java and Flash. It is scheduled to be commercially available around Sept./Oct. time frame. Stay tuned.

Will be the new SDK be available only for the next HW platform or it could be used for existing iGala frames as well?
What kind of apps can be done with the SDK?
I'm thinking about a simple music organizer/player that would allow to select and play on my home stereo records stored on network hard drive (samba share preferably).
By the way: everyone who gathered through the years some music collection I'm talking to says he/she really badly needs such device/application.
For some bizarre reason no manufacturer makes such stuff. Opportunity?
The next platform will support generic application type like Flash, so that the learning curve won't be as steep as the current LUA version. Current application can be run on the new one but not vice-versa.
The current platform doesn't have a ready component for the Network drive access, which could be a potential challenge for your application.
To include iPod type of feature is a fairly big change for a photo frame and our product guys need to evaluate that.
Update on the next generation of the SDK platform?
