I'd like to use a few of these as status displays at work. So at the very least, I'd like to be able to push new images to it every 10 seconds or so. Graphs, text, stats, and so on. Video would also be nice for animation.

If you make something decent, I'll definitely release any software I have so that others can use it as well.

Paritally, yes

The remote synch won't be as fast as 10 seconds. It is more like 10 minutes. That is if you update your images on Flickr or send an email to the frame, how long it will take for the change to show up.

Video is on the roadmap for next year.

We will try to make it decent. But it is hard. ;)

Thanks!

Thanks! In this case, I'd like a local network API, and the ability to push updates. Imagine, for example, that the frame sits on your sysadmin's desk, showing traffic graphs that update every 30 seconds, and that play a warning sound when things break. Or a frame for the CEO's desk that shows up-to-the-minute sales trends.

I've used the Ambient Orb for some info like this, but a dedicated display would be much cooler.

If there's an opportunity for me to do some of the coding, I'd be glad to help.

Re: Thanks!

Thanks for the offering. We do have some on-going SDK customer projects using the platform to develop "Control Center" type of device for their own purposes. There are more like a target specific machine. We are hoping some time in 2009 we can release the application platform for developers for iGala frame specific applications.
