A friend of mine has a large collection of electronically-stored recipes and was looking for a small, touchscreen PC to use in the kitchen. The iGala is exactly the hardware and the price he's been looking for!
As it's linux based and you've mentioned an SDK is on the way, he'll probably look into hacking it in any case--but other, less tech-savvy users might find recipe functionality useful.
A Flickr recipe channel
Why not setup a public recipe photo set on Flickr and any frame subscribe to that set can view it. No need to hack, especial with wet hands in kitchen. :)
