Please add an option to turn off the various transition visualizations - they're pretty cheesy. A simple crossfade would be far more attractive. Keep the various pixelization swipes and checkerboard dissolves if you must be please allow this to be turned off.
Secondly, why have so many options for the photo cycle time all so close together, and nothing longer than 15 seconds? Please add far more choices or space them out into *much* wider intervals. I'd even like to see a transition as slow as a new picture every *day* not every 15 seconds. Options should exist for every few hours, every hour, etc as well as every minute. You could have a fast transition for testing, but really this is an ambient device and should behave as such.
Finally, I would like to be able to log in over the network and perform remote configuration. This is in my mum's house and I'm 5,000 miles away :-)
Thanks for a great product with great potential!

Remote configuration
Since the frame receives pictures from it's authorised source, could it not receive a 'specially crafted' jpg which contained the setup parameters?
That way, one of the images in it's display list would act as a control file.
Just a thought.
Transition Control now supported
The firmware upgrade that supports Transition control is now released. You can get it here.
Transition Controls
i-Gala may one of the few frames if not the only one that offers transition controls. I like it. Maybe a few more transitions that are not common out there. When I first used the new transition controls I got so may questions about the i-Gala. It makes it stand to that much more over what is out there.
Cross fades is great choice if you can swing it. Maybe a few ideas from Apple Computers keynote presentation program?
I second the transition
I second the transition controls - Something simple and elegant would be great, with the option to select a particular effect like crossfade.
Thanks,
Peter
Those are very good suggestions
For the transitions, we are working on adding configuration screen so that user can configure how they want them to be. Hopefully, we will release a new firmware upgrade for it with in 2 months. Yes, we will add more frequency options.
Remote configuration is a little more complicated. We will run a feasibility analysis on this one. Since some kind of security or authentication has been implemented to prevent hacking. Also, most of the frames are behind a firewall provided by the router, which will make ordinary users impossible to use this feature.
